Russell Simmons' New Hip Hop "Home Page" - Global Grind - Review
What does the Internet need? How about another portal page with a hip hop flavor? Worry not, Russell Simmons and Jim Breyer have created it for you at GlobalGrind.com.

Is the Internet getting stale? Global Grind - Your Web Filtered Fresh!
First Glance
Global Grind is your typical landing/home/start page. Google, Yahoo, New York Times, Net Vibes and countless others all have them.
Why create a new one? First of all, it's easy to do. Second, if you put a "hip hop" flavor on anything, someone will buy it!

Global Grind's first page, the first time
My Global Grind
From the start page I've selected, honeys, music, comedy and entertainment because who doesn't love these topics? On to the next page...
The first page appears to be useless. I've selected my topics, yet I'm greeted by a generic "how to use Global Grind" page and I still have to register. The registration/log-in page should be first.
I'm not diggin my new fresh Interwebs...
After logging-in, my Global Grind front page looks as generic as it did before. I still see the How to Use G.G. Tab, G.G Highlights and G.G. Daily News. These tabs can't be moved or changed. Where is SoUrban's page or the topics I selected before?
In the tab farthest to the right, I see my Entertainment, Music, Comedy and Honeys tabs. These again are just populated with generic posts from random fresh places.
I can't even give them a thumbs up or down to help customize the content to my taste!
This looks like a really confusing and annoying piece of web software.
If you really want a one-stop place for webpages, you should check out Google Reader. With Google Reader you can place all of your favorite RSS feeds (almost every page has one)in one place. It's much cleaner than Global Grind.
Thumbs down to Russell Simmons and his Global Grind.

First off russell is not lame. I have been using Globalgrind for about 4 months now and most of these bugs have been worked out. I think this site can be huge.
