New York City Web 2.0 Meetup Review

Hi All,

Yesterday, I attended the New York City Web 2.0 Meeup. I mixed and mingled with the crowd and tried to spread the word about beYOU.tv (the company I work for). Overall, the meetup was a success; a few companies gave presentations about their new products and developments. One in particular caught my eye...

Cafe Mom is a social networking site for mothers. It's very similar to Facebook/Myspace but much more friendly and clean (no party photos here).

Also, as I was sitting around listening to people present, the guy sitting in front of me turned around abruptly and asked “Hey, do you wanna work for a startup?” I told him that I already work at a startup. “But, do you wanna be a partner at a startup?” Being a partner could be huge, if a company takes-off, you’re in the money! I asked for some details regarding his company. “Ohh, I can’t share any details… could I get your card?” WTF? Give me some idea! How can I be interested w/o any info? Agush, I guess we haven’t shrugged off the lame-computer-geek-with-no-social-skills stereotype!
