How much do I love Radiohead? Very much! Radiohead is crazy good! They finished their 6-album contract with Hail to the Thief and they are now free agents. They have a new alum coming out on October 10th!

The Info

In Rainbows will be distributed for free on Oct 10th. You will have to pay for a transaction fee and you will be able to donate money to the band, if you wish. Radiohead is not charging you for the music!

The Impact

Radiohead is one of the most successful bands around, not to mention one of the best! Now that they are without a record contract, they can experiment with new distributions methods. This is similar to other bands such as The Grateful Dead and Price. The Dead made most of their money from touring on the road. Price, who doesn't have a contract either, frequently gives out his music at concerts.

Obviously, there are huge successful bands, which shows you that major record labels aren't needed! I'm really excited for Radiohead's new album and I'm glad they are shaking up the industry.

Just think how cool it would be if all bands did this! Only bands that could survive on their music would last! No more crappy corporate-created bands being pushed down your throat!
